Magic Eraser Damaged Finish on a Wood Table?

I used a Magic Eraser to remove a permanent marker stain from my new wood table. It caused a dull spot and small scratches. Can this be repaired?

Magic Eraser removes paint and finishes. You can try to refinish the spot, but you will probably have to refinish the entire top.

If this is a bran new table you can try to add some Old English to the spot to see if this one helps. If not then the top of the table will need to be sanded down and refunished to fix this issue.

it sounds like you have removed the top code of varnish and just adding more will nto make the table look better and could actually make it look worse in the end.
