This time of the year, after Christmas, the stores all have Christmas throws on sale. I got several from a dollar store for $2 each last year. This year I gave a few for gifts, and took 2 of them and sewed them together on 3 sides, making a large bag (like a large pillowcase). The open side, I folded over and machine stitched down in a 1 inch hem. Through that hem, I ran some thin rope. This created a huge red drawstring bag. It was the perfect size for the large floor lamp I got my husband for Christmas.
You can cut these to make reusable gift bags in any size you wish. They can also be laundered if need be, just let them line or dry on very low heat as a hot dryer may shrink them.
