Making 'Bee Mine' Clothespins

Total Time: 90 minutes

Supplies:

• clothespins
• yellow paint
• black paint
• paintbrushes
• red/pink construction paper
• pen
• scissors
• hot glue or craft glue
• black wire

Steps:

1. Paint the clothespins yellow. Let dry.

 
2. Paint black stripes over the yellow paint on the bottom segment of the clothespin. Let dry.

 
3. Paint on a little smiley face on the top portion of the clothespin. Let dry.

4. To make the heart wings, fold your construction paper in half and draw half-hearts at the spine.

 
5. Cut the hearts out.

 
6. If you like, write "Bee Mine" on the wings under the fold.

 
7. Add a small dab of glue to the point of the heart.

8. Pinch the clothespin open and attach the heart behind the bee's face.

 
9. Repeat on other side.

 
10. To make the antennae, cut out 2 little pieces of wire for each bee.

 
11. Add a blob of glue to the back of the bee head and push in the antennae. Let dry.
