How do you increase the size of a crocheted baby bootie pattern?
By cheryl irwin from Nutley
Increase the size of the crocheted sole by 3 or more stitches & the rest will follow.
* Usually a baby bootie will start with a chain then you go in the chain & around the chain then into the other side of the chain until the sole is the correct size. You'd just increase the length of the chain if this is how the pattern starts. If not, there are so many free bootie patterns on the internet!
Hi Cheryli,
Sometimes it is easier to use a larger crochet hook if you only want to increase a small amount.

I am looking for a knitting or crochet pattern for Irish step dance gillie-style baby booties. My pregnant daughter is an Irish step dance teacher and I would love to knit or crochet her some Irish gillie baby booties. Does anyone out there have a pattern for these?
I happened to see this on ebay and thought it might interest you. It's not exactly what you asked for but it is for an authentic 1920's crochet pattern - very pretty. The link is below. By the way, congratulations!
