I am looking for some easy recipes to put in a gift jar for my dad's Christmas basket. He is widowed and still does some cooking, but I am looking for some easy ideas. Soups would be good. Are there any other ideas that are not desserts? Also, I would like a reasonable size for one person or for a few meals.

Budget101 dot com has a lot of different "mix" recipes! There are a lot of good things you could include! I love the beer bread (flour, baking powder, sugar, salt - it's that simple)and have used that as a gift for years.
Does anyone have any recipes for making your own dry soup mixes. Something that I can mail off to my son in college from time to time.
