I have two bags of vanilla dry frosting that I would like to use. I don't know how much butter to add to make it? How much butter do I use?

I have never seen it in a bag before, so have no idea how big the bags are. So, I would say add 1 melted tablespoon at a time while mixing. Are you also adding milk as well? If it gets too runny, you can thicken it back up with powdered sugar.
It seems that these mixes only need water added. They have shortening cut in with the other ingredients. Add a little water at a time until the consistency is what you want.
Read the directions on the bag. If you want, you can add additions to the frosting, like vanilla flavoring or cream cheese, nuts or other flavors to enhance the frosting taste.
Drizzle in a little warm water at a time. The powdery mixes already have butter and oils in the mix.
Add a few tablespoons of water at a time until you get the right consistency. Then taste. If it needs more flavor, add a little butter.
You can add water or any other liquid (your choice) to keep the vanilla flavor or enhance it with another flavor liquid. Always taste and adjust the flavor before using.
