Go ahead and try it---that is all you can do. To me, it sounds awfully messy. People have a certain type of hair that is intended for them. There is an over the counter supplement that you can buy that is supposed to help hair, skin and nails, but I don't know if it works or not.

I have used olive oil or carrot oil or tea tree oil. It won't make your hair grow thicker or grow faster, but it is good for your hair and scalp. It only made my hair shiny and healthy. =~) As we grow older, our hair slows down it's growing, as in anything else lol. Go ahead and use it. It make my hair shine and softer more than it ever has.

This is how I did it. Rub the oil all over your scalp and into your hair really good. pile your hair on top of your head and put a plastic shower cap or something over it, making sure it will stay in place. Leave oil in hair over night or for at least 8 hours. Wash and rinse twice to remove all the oil. Dry and style. Good luck.

That along with other remedies are old wives tales. Was a hairstylist for 35 years as were both of my parents. Nothing is going to make your hair grow faster or thicker. Hair growth and the amount you have is genetic and the majority of human beings in the world have hair growth of about 1/2 inch per month.

Also, everyone loses about 100 hairs a day based on a seven year life cycle. When those hairs are about seven years old they fall out and new ones start growing in to replace them. The best thing to do to help keep hair healthy is to eat healthy balanced meals and exercise.

Some medications cause hair to thin because they rob vitamins and minerals from your body so if you take medications ask your doctor which and how much vitamins and/or minerals you should take to balance. Also, stress, anxiety and hormonal changes can cause excessive hair loss.

What applying oil to your hair will do is help keep any growth you get, by reducing breakage. Likewise healthy food can help make your hair stronger, so you don't lose what you've gained.

Everyone sheds considerable hair at least once a year (like a bird molts). This grows back nice and healthy. Nothing topically works for growing hair. Notice all the bald men? 98% of them want their hair! Most of them have tried everything to get it back. There is nothing that works.

As you get older like me, many women lose hair. I bought a wig. It looks so natural that my husband didn't know it was a wig the first time I ever wore it. After that, once in a while I don't wear it and he will ask if I am. A wig can really work for you.

The short answer, no, it is not true.
