Making a 3D Pumpkin Pie Card

Total Time: 35 minutes

Yield: 1 card

Supplies:

• white card stock
• scissors
• craft paper (orange and brown)
• pens and markers (yellow and brown)
• glue
• 1 cotton ball

Steps:

1. Cut a piece of card stock to the desired size of your card base.

 
2. Cut out a triangle from the orange craft paper sheet, a bit smaller than your card base.

 
3. Let's start giving the pie some angles. Snip off the tip of the triangle.

4. Take your yellow pen and draw a line from the top of the new cut horizontally across to the other side.

 
5. Now cut the tiny triangle off from under this line so your 2 sides are parallel.

 
6. Shave off a bit of the top angle to make it more realistic.

 
7. Put the orange paper on top of a piece of brown paper and cut it so it's just a bit bigger on the bottom edge and left edge. This will be the pie crust. Glue it on.

8. Draw vertical lines going down the side of the pie with your yellow pen.

 
9. Cut out a squiggly shape from the brown paper to make the thick edge pie crust. Glue it on. Now glue the whole slice onto the card base.

 
10. I took the fine point side of my yellow pen and embossed lines over the previous yellow lines. This gave it nice dimensions. You can do the same with a toothpick or dry pen (or something similar).

11. Write your message around the pie.

 
12. To make your whipped cream, rip off about 1/2 of the cotton ball and twist it into a little pile. Larger at the bottom, smaller at the top. Glue it onto the pie.
