Diamond Post Medal for All Time! 1,246 Posts You can make this cute pendant necklace using a plastic bottle cap, glitter, glue, and a paperclip. Working with layers of glue and glitter gives it nice depth. It makes me so happy to make new things out of random stuff around the house!
Total Time: 1 hour
Yield: 1 pendant necklace
Supplies:
- 1 plastic bottle cap
- 1 small paperclip
- wirecutter
- hot glue gun with glue
- glitter (large and fine)
- pliers
- jump ring
- chain necklace
- clear craft glue
- clear nail polish or clear craft sealer
Steps:
- Open up one end of your paperclip. Very carefully heat the tip using a flame (I used a lighter) then poke 2 holes on the side of the bottle cap the same width of the paper clip.
- Cut the paperclip so you're left with a long U-shaped piece.
- Poke the 2 ends of the U into the holes you just made in the cap.
- Fill the cap 2/3 the way with hot glue, making sure to get all around the clip.
- Very quickly pour some of your large glitter over the hot glue before it sets.
- Place a bit more hot glue on top of the glitter.
- Quickly sprinkle with fine glitter. Tap off the excess.
- Open up your jump ring with your pliers. Hook onto the paper clip piece, then string on the chain necklace.
- Add a thin layer of clear craft glue to the surface of the pendant and sprinkle on a bit more large glitter.
- Seal everything with clear nail polish or clear craft sealer.
- Allow to dry for a few hours.
