This is a simple project to convert any old yarn into a stylish yet simple-to-make coaster! The yarn I've used is coir (coconut yarn), but literally anything can be used.

Total Time: 5-10 minutes
Supplies:
glue
yarn
Steps:
Start by dipping your fingers in the glue and coating one side of the yarn with the glue. Now very slowly start winding the yarn around itself and applying more glue. Wind the yarn as tight as possible.
Make sure you apply glue only on the side which will be in contact with more yarn.
Repeat until you get a big enough coaster! Don't worry if it's not perfectly flat, just place it under a heavy load for a few hours and it'll be completely flat.

The final product.
These coasters are also extremely durable. Here is a photo of a coaster I made in 2005 (10 years ago!) which I have been using everyday since then and it is still in perfect shape.
