Today, I'm making a fun craft for my son and his two cousins. They love it when I make paper toys for them. I'm glad I can make them smile with simple handmade toys.
Supplies:
- 3 sheets of cardstock (assorted colors)
- glue
- scissors
- pencil/marker
- paper

Steps:
- Draw a butterfly pattern on a piece of paper, including the body, head, and wings.

- Cut out these patterns.

- Trace the patterns onto preferred colored cardstock.

- Cut them out. Make two pieces from each pattern.

- Take one oval and one circle for the head and body and glue them together.

- Cut out two small strips of different colored paper, about 1 inch or less. Fold into zigzags.

- Glue the tips onto the head for the antennae.

- Cut out six longer strips about 1 and 1/2 inches and fold into zigzags.

- Glue 3 on each side of the body. Set aside.

- Take another set of the body and head assembly. Stick the wings onto it.

- Cut out thin strips and arrange them on the body.

- Add the other details to the wings.

- Cut a long two inch wide strip of cardstock.

- Glue both ends on the two sides of the first body. See photo.

- Now, stick the two sets together.

- Draw a face on the head.

- Insert your hand in the handle under the body of your butterfly.

- Move your hand up and down to flap its wings.
