Making a Shadowbox Coffee Table

September 7, 2008

A man measuring wood.Shadowbox coffee tables are a great addition to any family room and are fairly cheap to purchase (even cheaper to make yourself). I like to display heirlooms such as our family bible, antique jewelry, old books, etc., which can be changed with the seasons. The Bible is too fragile for daily use but is a really special conversation piece whenever we have company.

My daughter-in-law made beautiful coffee tables with recycled storm windows, and then she built the boxes underneath, added purchased legs, and stained them with a dark stain. They are very beautiful.

Sounds great, but what is a shadowbox coffee table and how do you make one. A picture sure would have been nice.
