I'm so glad this will work for all of us that have found we need it.

If you're not sure "how to" make this box, (if that's the question) I'll make a step by step (pictures).

Please let me know if that's what "turfing means".

I am sorry...I should talk in slang from the 19XX's! (long time ago)! Turfing just means I will send it over to an expert...as there was just a post about this by Attosa so I was calling her the resident expert :)

No offense meant and I apologize for causing confusion :(

Pghgirl40, that's okay, and yep, slang from the 19XX's I'd understand better, hahaha! :)

suz1230 thanks for your nice message...this should have read I should NOT talk in slang from the 19XX! My keyboard is getting all wonky on me lately, when what I see on the screen is NOT what I get when it is posted. YIKES!

Pghgirl40,

Believe me, all is truly fine :) :) :)

I am the one that's probably making this more confusing.

And I totally agree, Attosa (hi Attosa) is the "expert" imho too! :)

If you click just below this, it says (more comments) then there's more descriptions of "how to" do this box.

Thank you.

I'm having a time trying to figure out how to post "each step" for making the (tortilla box) but... I may have found the right place finally to put the steps now.

The supplies needed are:
cardboard box with sides that are larger than your tortillas in the package, packing tape, scotch tape will work but not as well as packing tape, and a box cutter or knife.

  • 1) First make sure your box is wide enough to accommodate the size of the package (s) of tortillas.
  • 2) I drew red lines on both sides of the box, *front and side* so it can be seen how the width and depth of the box is wide enough to accommodate the torts.
  • 3) Mark X's on the 2 sides, (front and side) of the cardboard box.
  • 4) Cut away the rest of the box, (saving the X'ed parts) or keeping those 2 sides intact.
  • 5) Now you've got your X parts cut and ready to fold to make your tortilla box.
  • 6) Draw a line about 1-2" off from the fold, as in the picture.

  • 7) Now fold the box over where you've drawn the line. I used a measuring stick to help keep the line straight when I folded it over on the line I drew.
  • 8) Now fold upwards the shorter side.
  • 9) Tape that side now, and then I just used a couple of strips of packing tape for the bottom, as seen in the picture. The top is left open so the torts can slide in and out of the box. You could tape another piece of cardboard on the bottom end too, (I just used 2 strips of tape).
  • You could actually use shelf paper to cover it if you wanted to make it look nicer too.

hehehe Oh goodness, this came out in the steps, but not with the pictures for each step.

I think though the pics will be more explanatory than how I've written it. Hope it's easier to understand :)
