Egg Crate Turtle Paper Weight - frog on a stack of paperMake a cute paper weight to keep papers, or your kids' papers from flying everywhere especially when the fan is on or the air breeze is blowing in. You can apply this same concept to other animals too if you don't want a turtle.

Total Time: 10 minutes + drying time

Supplies:

  • egg carton
  • scissors
  • paint/paint brush
  • goggly eyes
  • pom pom
  • 4 flat glass gems
  • construction paper
  • hot glue

Steps:

  1. You'll need one egg carton piece. Paint and allow to dry. Once dried you can go around with scissors to trim off the excess.
    2. Egg Crate Turtle Paper Weight - cut off one section of the carton, paint, and allow to dry - then trim of excess bits of paper
     
  2. Lay out all supplies - flat glass gems, pom pom, and goggly eyes.
    3. Egg Crate Turtle Paper Weight - arrange supplies around the body
     
  3. Assemble all pieces with hot glue.
    4. Egg Crate Turtle Paper Weight - hot glue on the feet using the flat gems
     
    Egg Crate Turtle Paper Weight - add pompom head
     
    Egg Crate Turtle Paper Weight - glue on eyes
     
  4. Cut a piece of construction paper into a triangle to resemble a tail and glue onto the turtle. Ready to use as a paper weight!
    5. Egg Crate Turtle Paper Weight - cut an elongated triangle for the tail and glue in place
