McCormick Deering could be the manufacturer. This plow clevis looks to be for a horse drawn plow, most likely a walk behind plow.

I agree, Its definitely from a walking plow. McCormick was another thought as well as Oliver. The patent date is 1878, there is an "L" and "160" marked on it as well.

The patent date is 1878. So yes very old.

I read these plows could turn 2 acres a day and that was progress : )

That's what I was thinking as well, JD/Syracuse. It's a little different than the one on EBAY, but still a 6 hole adjustment clevis.

It is difficult to find out who made this Horse Drawn Walking Plow Clevis (1878). As far as I know, McCormick used marking like here (see attached screenshots): www.ebay.com/.../254200292167

John Deere started making Horse Drawn Walking Plows in 1837, but they also used marking (JD), like here: www.thriftyfun.com/Identifying-Farm-Equipment-1.html
I found a Plow Clevis labeled with L, similar to yours, but it seems a little more modern, here in the photo under the letter P: www.greatplanestrading.com/.../NOV13_CB008WB.jpg, description is here: www.greatplanestrading.com/.../NOV13_1.htm They described it as Clevis plates 12 L & 12R held together with two bolts.
"Plow clevis is a pair of iron plates clamped onto the end of a Walking plow beam and having a series of holes spaced vertically in them. By then adding other kinds of clevises, such as the crosslink clevis, an Evener could be attached to the plow. Depending on which holes were used in the plow clevis, the plowing depth could be varied. " www.thefreedictionary.com/Plow+clevis
