I'm looking for a quick and easy sweater pattern for an American girl doll and its 7 year old owner, my niece. Any thoughts on where to find a good one? I was thinking something knit with bulky yarn would be great, but I'm having no luck finding a pattern. Does anyone have a favorite that they'd be willing to share?

Try looking on the yarn company web sites, ie. Lion Brand, Red Heart, etc.
The girls sweater will be easy to find, but the doll you could just make a "T" shape, and sew under the arms and down the torso style maybe. I am only a brand-brand new knitter so I haven't tried anything this technical. Would the yarn stores in your area be able to advise you on the doll sweater?
Another idea that my Mom did years ago, was to just cut up an old purchased sweater and sew/zigzag the seams. (I've seen instr. somewhere on how to do this to make mittens for us big girls and boys too. makes the ribbing at the wrist and everything.) Good Luck! Happy knitting!
