Maytag Front Loader Error Codes?

I have a Maytag MAF1300AAW front loader washing machine. It goes through the wash cycle as many times as I like, but as soon as it tries the rinse cycle it stops with error number 2 on the screen. No Fs or Ds before or after the 2, just error number 2. If I select the final spin cycle it does that quite happily and turns off, but it will not look at the rinse cycle. What is error number 2?
