I have a Maytag front load washer. Once I set the cycle the estimated time remaining shows the proper time, like "45 minutes". Once I start the machine, it starts to fill with water (I'm not sure if it fills completely), then it often will start to wash a bit. Next, it beeps and the display in the estimated time remaining flashes a "H" then a "F", but will not complete the cycle. It just continues to flash these to letters (one after the other). I don't know what it means or how I can get it to wash.

The FH error codes on the washing machine are a water issue dealing with the hot and cold water. Here is what you can do to check your machine.
Step 1
Check your household faucets to ensure that both the hot and cold faucets are turned on. Both the faucets needed to be opened completely so the machine can fill.
Step 2
If you have selected cold water the machine is designed to use both the hot and cold water to keep the water temperature optimal.
Step 3
Both the hot and cold water must be attached and turned on for the machine's water supply. The machine won't operate correctly if only the cold or the hot water is turned on.
Step 4
Check the screens on your water hose to make sure they are clean and nothing is affecting the flow of water to your machine.
