Because my daughter plays the flute, I made this mini flute for her to display on a shelf in her bedroom.
Total Time: 1 hour
Yield: 1
Supplies:
- 1/2" to 3/4" dowel, 10" long
- silver acrylic paint and brush
- glue
- beads
- hot glue gun
Steps:
- Using a picture of a real flute (found on the internet), glue beads onto the dowel placing them similar to the picture. Do this in small sections and allow to dry before doing the next section. Allow 3" space on one end for the mouthpiece of the flute.
- Using hot glue gun, glue details onto flute around keys (using picture as an example) and make mouthpiece at end of flute with hot glue. Paint entire flute with silver paint.

This turned out really well! Thanks for the idea. I'm a sometime-props-mistress (pre-covid) at local stage theaters and will definitely keep this technique in mind!
