My 77 year old mom lives on a limited income. Her walls are soft and leaking, her floors are falling in, and she's having some electrical problems. What kind of help can she get without it costing her next to nothing. She lives in Sturgis, South Dakota.

She can contact Habitat for Humanity or HUD.org
Here is a list of sites you can start with.
It appears that your mother's repair problems will be too extensive for anyone in these organizations to tackle.
If she belongs to any type church organization this would be her best resource or probably her only resource.
Be aware that most 'help' services will not do any type of work on a mobile home.
Be prepared for most of these places to tell you (your mother) that it would be better if she moved to a safer place - assisted living or HUD placement.

Your town has a lot of churches so you may want to contact one (even better if you or your mom belongs to one) and see if they can help.
Many have discretionary funds where they can offer small loans or gifts to help people in the community who are in need.
The challenge is many government groups won't help with mobile homes for some reason, which I never understood.
Sometimes you have to go to the more micro groups--like the churches and ask for help.
Post back with an update! Prayers that you can find help soon!
