Silver Post Medal for All Time! 408 Posts
Valentine's Day is a day to celebrate the love existing between a couple. Turn old cheese spread glass jars into romantic lanterns and use them to set the mood for a special Valentine's dinner.
Tip: For each jar, only a little bit of spray paint is used, so with one can of spray paint, one could make a few of these lanterns.
Total Time: one hour, including drying time
Yield: one lantern
Supplies:
- 1 250g empty cheese spread glass jar
- left-over piece of cardstock
- 0.3" wide red satin ribbon
- 0.6" wide red polymer clay rose
- 1 battery operated T-light
- 1 large petal palm punch from XCut, code XCU 261811
- Heritage Spray-on Contact Glue
- Spraymate Sandblast semi-transparent spray paint
- glue gun and glue stick
- 1 piece of cotton wool
- cotton buds
- methylated spirits
- old newspaper to protect the working area
Steps:
- Punch eight flowers from the cardstock.
- Lightly spray the one side of the flowers with the Heritage Contact Glue and allow to dry.
- Position the flowers all around the glass jar.

- Use cotton wool and methylated sprites to clean the jar all around the flowers.
- Place the jar upside down and spray with the Spraymate Sandblast spray paint.
- Allow to dry and add a second layer.
- Allow to dry thoroughly before removing the cardstock flowers.
- Use the cotton buds and methylated spirits to gently remove any glue residue from where the flowers were positioned.
- Tie ribbon around the neck of the jar and make a bow.
- Hot glue the polymer clay rose to the bow.

- Add the candle and voila!
