What brand, or brands, of mothballs have rough surfaces for satisfactory use in the Bouncing Mothball type of project? I don't want to waste any more money with buying a brand that just doesn't work. "Bouncing Mothballs" uses water, vinegar, baking soda, and mothballs. Air bubbles are to collect on the rough surfaces of the mothballs, and rise and fall. Mother used to do these for the holidays, back in the '40s. Guess the mothballs were not as smooth then as those I've tried in recent years. Thanks for any help.

Only mothballs made with naptha will work. The ones most commonly available, which are made from parachlorobenzine, will not rise and fall.
Caution: Naptha is very toxic if ingested. Be very careful when doing this project. Follow the warnings on the label!
