Is there any assistance or service that will help move an elderly woman and her grown disabled son to another county? Such as one that has more services for her son, including independent living for when she's passed.

She asked about moving to a new county not Country ..regardless..check with you county senior and disability resource center or local HUD office....They often can direct you to .."discounted" moving services for seniors or volunteers to at least pack..Check directly for discounts such as..www.wheatonworldwide.com/
Another reason to check with H U D or a senior/disabled resource center in your region is you may qualify for Section 8 housing rental assistance as a senior ..{if you income qualify}
I know a lot of disabled young people, both mentally and/or physically disabled that have been living in group homes or in their own apartments in towns 20-50 miles away from their parents, so that they can receive those special services, but if you had let him do that you would have lost his disability check.
I don't know of any organizations that will move a family to another county, they might move your son, but that is all, and that would have to be whatever facility he would be enrolled in. Don't you have any younger friends, other kids that would be willing to help you. Or IF you belong to a church speak to the pastor, some times they will round up people in the congregation to help another member of the church. That being said do you have a place rounded up to live in or are you expecting help with that too?
What a jerk!!! I hope u never have to walk in the shoes of a disabled person. Get a heart and some compassion. U and people like you are whats wrong with our country now.
That's one of the most reprehensible responses I've ever had the misfortune to witness. I spent several years of my life working with/caring for developmentally disadvantaged children and adults. People who would probably be delighted to function @ the level of this woman's son.
Yes its the truth physically disabled adults have no resources. No one walks in our shoes and some people are heartless. Im in a bad situation so I understand and also cant move myself or my mom who is also-disabled with serious health issues in Fl where there is no help at all.
Oh geez.. another idiot had access to a computer. You've got great support here and there is more. Hope your move was smooth and safe!
I doubt very much if it is possible to emigrate to another country because a person is disabled in order to be better looked after in that country. I'm sorry. Here in Canada, we have very good social safety nets, but there is a lot of backlash as well, even for refugees from terribly wore torn countries or places where there has been drought and disaster, from some people who feel that we are being taken advantage of by people moving in to take advantage of our universal health care and social programs.
I live in Fl worked my whole life and now Im in constant agonizing pain from a work accident in 1992 and my mom is 70 and disabled and there is no help at all in Florida and Im now unable to do anything after eight spinal operations and now needing knee surgery I cant drive and people disappear when your in such bad shape and cant do normal things I learned after spending my life helping others including my x boyfriends grandmother for many years while I was disabled because no one cared about her. So, I moved to Florida because my dad was always hospitalized and very ill and after he passed shortly after my moms stroke I did all I could for my mom for eight years and now my body is destroyed to a point I never thought could happen but when you cate about people you neglect yourself at times because someone needs help at some point in their lives and I have a giving spirit despite what it has now cost me pushing my body all those years while suffering in brutal pain because I cared and have empathy and now Im physically useless and my mom just was hospitalized with pulmonary issues and is home and Im still trying to do what I can despite my suffering which is intense throughout my e tore spine, and knees so to hear anyone say that no one should need or look for help sickens me. I have no family left and at 53 Im living in fear mostly because I worry about my mom and feel guilty I cant physically do what I did for her all these years. We are living in a run down house where her and my dad rented and she was left with nothing sadly but my dads SS and its hard I often wonder why the state of Florida helps foreigners but has no assistance for elderly or the disabled adults who are truly in need of help.
Are you kidding us, Canada? Maybe check your reading skills or make an appointment with an eye doctor.
