I have been using my bread maker for years now and it is pretty old. I pulled out my bread maker after a few months and I decided to make banana bread. I saw that it was mixing and all so I thought it was fine. After the baking cycle when I went to pull it out I noticed that the top half didn't even mix and only the bottom mixed and baked.
The next day I tried to make pizza dough and it was mixing fine, but when I pulled it out it wasn't even in a dough form, it looked like it needed more kneading. Please help, I don't know what's wrong! I know that it's mixing, but it doesn't do the job.

What brand are you asking about? Maybe with more info, I can offer accurate and honest suggestions.
Anything else, I am just guessing and that is not fair to you!
Its an Oster bread maker. I never had any of these problems until recently. It shows that it's mixing but it doesn't mix it thoroughly.
There is an issue with the paddles in the machine. Either the mother needs a bit of oil or the paddles need to be replaced. if the machine is not working at 100% and mixing the items before it is cooked then there is an issue with the mixing cycles and this runs with the motor and the paddles working together to mix your itmes. I would check the motor area and see if it needs a bit of oil or go to the company who made the machine and see if you can buy a new part for the motor and the new paddles for your machine.

Is it possible it is the ingredients contributing to the issues?
Just a thought.
Oster has a comprehensive help system and I have found them to be helpful:
www.oster.com/
They also have nice phone support: 800) 438-0935 if you are in the US. If you are outside of the US, the link I gave you has an email contact option by clicking on their contact me button.
There are also some decent YouTube videos that may help. If you put the machine number in the search bar you should find them.
Post back what you learn. This is a sad time to have a failed bread maker. I hope it is an easy fix!
