My Cat Started Pooping in the Bathtub?

I have a 3 year old female cat that has started to poop in the bathtub. I feel as though she is doing this because we recently moved, in July. However the other cat has no problem using the litter box. We have a leaky bathtub so I can't always leave the plug in the bath tub and the bathroom is the only non carpet place in the house. I am beyond frustrated and just want her to stop. I have two litter boxes and it could be freshly cleaned and she will still do it. I just don't know what to do.

Call your Vet, there is a under lying reason for this!

I had a cat that did this after a move. You are lucky it is in the bathtub my cat did it on the floor by the toilet. I had the litter box and it was cleaned twice a day. It took the cat a few months to accept the new home we were living in.

The cat finally stopped on his own and started to use his litter box again. There are some cats that hate change and yours could be one of them. Keep scolding the cat and try to keep the door closed to the bathroom this one should help.

Try putting a litter box in the bathtub. If she goes for it, then a couple days later move it to next to the tub. If she goes for that for a few days you might be home free.

I believe the move had something to do with it. I would ask the vet for advice.

Be sure to see your Vet. About 70% of these problems are because of an underlying medical problem. If it turns out that this is not the case then you can begin to use behavioral changes. Good luck.

Have you checked with the vet to make sure there is no underlying health issue? I find changes in bowel/bladder habits in pet are often health related.

If the kitty gets a clean bill of health, you will want to talk to the vet about the best way to have some behavior modification.

First I would guess would be to keep the bathroom door shut, and put the little box right outside the door, but he/she may have other suggestions.

Post back with an update! Prayers for the fur kids!
