My Scottish terrier was only 8 years old and we found him on his side and he had pooped himself. He was normal that morning. He had his breakfast. He did lose his bff at the beginning of summer, but it honestly looked like we got him over the initial loss. He was having accidents and was going to the vet on Monday I feel like I missed something. He was eating and drinking and full of spunk. I'm heartbroken.

Sorry for the loss of your pet. The only way you can get a definitive answer is by having an autopsy done.
You have my deepest sympathy on your loss. May your sweet pup's furry memory always be a blessing.
Puppies can pass from broken hearts just like people! That could be what happened or the stress may have caused an issue too.
Sadly, as our vet told me, sometimes you never know.
Sending you and yours prayers for a healing heart. Take care!!
So very sorry for your loss. This could be many things that only a Vet can tell you with test/autopsy . It is never easy when it is sudden lost of your pet. Seek out other pet owners and pet owner grief counseling groups. There are many out there and one near you , or online.
Losing a pet is an extremely painful, especially when the death is unexpected. I understand you very good. I also recently lost my beloved pet. I'm so very sorry for your loss, 8 is too young.
Heart-related diseases are the most common causes of sudden death in pets. Arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms), and blood clots top the list.
I'm so sorry. Most of us have been there. It's natural to feel you missed something but I doubt if you did. If only animals could tell us when something starts going wrong we might have more chance of catching it. Life is so sad sometimes.
