Photo Description My iris could have been described as an 'antique copper', a 'muted' copper, a 'burnished' copper, etc. For my own reference, I use words that make sense to me. In my flowers and vegetables folder, this beautiful little iris will be described as 'Deep Copper Red'. How's that?
It was in design for a few years. I learned a whole new language. Those 'darling' designers used a lot of adjectives that to me, had little meaning.

Beautiful!! Love that color.
Very nice colour indeed.
That color is stunning. Won't matter what you call it. It is just beautiful!
As usual, the last few blooms are a different color; always leaning towards a true copper.
Changing colors just for you! I'll bet you are out in your garden sweet talking to these lovely bloomers everyday.
Bearded Iris, although very common where I spent quite a bit of my youth (Southern Calif) is my favorite flower. When the plant gets thick, you can propagate them by separating the rhizomes at their "joints" for lack of a better word. I am now in a different house, and planted "my first iris 2018" at this house.
PS- even if they do grow well in desert areas, they really need and want a lot of water. This iris is the Bearded Iris, and coincidentally I just posted on someone else upload of a yellow Iris.
What beautiful blooms! Your description quite sufficient. Thanks again for all of the lovely photos and thoughts you share with us.
