My dog was in contact with a dog that recently died of parvo. I believe my dog caught the parvo virus, but was able to fight it off as she has been vaccinated. I'm worried that she is still carrying the virus from the other dog even though it's not affecting her. Is this the case? Or has she fought it off completely? Is she safe to be around other dogs or is she likely to still be carrying parvo?

I would contact the vet to make sure. I dont know if anyone here is qualified to answer
Definitely call the vet to get you questions answered. To be safe, please keep your pup away from other dogs! Prayers and healing thoughts to you fur child!
so you are afraid that she might be a canine Typhoid Mary?
Thankfully this seems not to be the case. According to this vet, this does not really happen for much more than 3 weeks www.askavetquestion.com/
although the virus stays in the area for a good year
i'm glad for you that your dog made it
From everything I know, a vaccinated dog does not carry or shed the virus. A dog that has had parvo and recovered is immune for life. The Vet you took your dog to should be glad to answer your questions via a phone call for no charge.
