There is an old sci fi or horror movie where a farmer who has been in an accident was given a new metal skull to replace his damaged one. I remember it from my childhood, so it could be anywhere from the late 60s (I'm a '74 vintage model!) all the way into the early 80s.
I recall from the movie that they tried to perform the same procedure on another patient and he didn't make it. The ending seemed to show the farmer digging in the field while someone was talking or interviewing him, and the credits had the metal head as the main background image. I hope someone remembers this film. It's been driving me up the wall trying to remember it!

I do not go in for horror movies but my son offered this one. Not really sure as it is a scientist that has an accident and is given a metal head and then becomes a farmer.

My son agrees that it should probably be under sci-fi but spooky also.
He said he was glad he remembered as he thought it was worth seeing at least one time.
