Hoppy is a very good name for a grasshopper, but I thought that you might like other possibilities as well.
Ben for Been Hopping.
Roy for His Royal High Hopper
King for King Grasshopper
Jimmy Jumper
Chewy because grasshoppers chew

I like the name Fosbury for your new grasshopper. This would be in honor of probably the most famous high jumper in history, Dick Fosbury. He is known for inventing the "Fosbury Flop," the modern technique used by high jumpers today.
You could also modify it to Foss, Fossy, Fossi, Foss Berry, Fosberri, etc.
All in all, I just think it would be a cute name. Plus, since it isn't a common name, it reads as gender-neutral, since it's pretty hard to tell their genders as far as I know (although I haven't really done any research).
In one of my former jobs, we adopted a three-legged grasshopper who lived on the numerous office plants we had in the window. I have no idea how it first made its way to the thirteenth floor of the court tower in downtown Minneapolis, but once we discovered it, we always had fun looking for which plant it was perched on each morning.

You could even name it Sienna this is for if is a girl it will have four spikes on it's butt if it is a girl which is where it produces it's eggs.
Girl or Boy? Girls: Lilia, Poppy, Rose, Ivy, Megan, Peony, Orchid, Penny, Daisy, Fern, Jaylen and Candy for the girl names.
Boys: John, Waylon, Dandy, Moss, Grassy, Connor, Pinidae, Horsetail, Tonester, and Dilly for the boy names.

I think that jumper is a great name for a grasshopper, because they are always very jumpy.
from where i am from, grasshoppers are known as Belalang (grasshopper), so I'm naming mine Belang (which means stripes) as it has very nice stripes xd
I named mine Grassy Fosbury!
