Diamond Post Medal for All Time! 1,246 Posts If you like your seafood with bit of a kick, you'll have to try this New Orleans take on shrimp. It's a one-pan dish and ready in minutes. I love this with a piece of fresh crusty bread to mop up the juices. It's very comforting on colder days!
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
Yield: 2 to 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 3 Tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp hot sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- juice of 1/2 lemon
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 Tbsp parsley, chopped
Steps:
- Place butter, olive oil, chili sauce, Worcestershire, chili powder, paprika, oregano, hot sauce, and garlic in a large pan over medium heat. Cook for a minute, stirring frequently, so flavours open up.
- Add shrimp and lemon juice to the mix.
- Cook for a few minutes, until shrimp is pink and cooked through. Shut off the heat and stir in parsley. Add salt and pepper to taste. Allow to rest in the pan for a minute.
- Serve with crusty bread and mop up the yummy juices.
