I just bought a new universal TV board, but it's not producing any volume. The picture is clear. What might be the problem?

Maybe you have the audio cable plugged in wrong or maybe the mute is set to on. Maybe wrong setting for the board, like if I have audio set to 6in1 surround sound and you don't have surround sound it will set it to off meaning no sound so try different settings til you hear sound if none of this works maybe the audio plug in is not working.
