Notifying Medicaid of New Spouse's Income?

I got married on the 20th and Medicaid advised me to get down there by the 10th to notify them of his income. Does that mean I need to go before the tenth or can I go on that day? I am asking because I need to take the day off from work if it's before the 10th exactly.

Medicaid is just asking for an update on your family income status.

  • Your letter gives you instructions to supply them with an update "no later than the 10th".
  • That means anytime between now and the 10th of the month.
  • No special day is required.
  • Will you be able to make an appointment so your wait will be a shorter period of time?
  • If you can make an appointment you may not have to take a whole day off from work as your wait time may be less than an hour.
  • Remember to take any documentation they have requested.

  • Maybe your husband's last pay stubs? Or anything showing his salary.
  • It is possible your family income has increased to the point that you will no longer qualify for Medicaid.

Congratulations on your marriage and wishes for many happy years in your future.

Any day up to and including the 10th. I'm usually in a hurry to get things like that straight so I usually go asap ;) Good luck.
