My 14th birthday is on October 30, but I don't really want to have a Halloween theme. I was thinking maybe a dress up party, but it might get too gross and sweaty with the costumes. Any other ideas?

What about a scarecrow/harvest/pumpkin theme. People could dress as scarecrows, if you liked. Or not. Lots of decoration ideas -- pumpkin hollowed out for a punch bowl (google for this sort of thing), pumpkin cake, orange streamers. You could even do jack 0'lanterns as an activity. Scarecrow and crows and cornstalks for decorations. Popcorn balls. If you didn't want to do scarecrow costumes, and still wanted some sort of "dress up", you could just do scarecrow hats, or have people dress down in "farming clothes' or scarecrow outfits -- jeans with patches, plaid shirts, battered hats, rope for belts or suspenders, etc.
