I have a 14 year old lab that's turning 15 this weekend. He is still very active and playful, but is starting to slightly show his age. I started thinking it was strange that I had to tell him to eat several times before he actually did and now it's not working. He just won't eat. When my brother fed him in the morning (10am) recently my dog didn't finish until 3 in the afternoon. We haven't changed his feeding times, amount or food. Any ideas what it could be? We did make an appointment to see the vet, but it's not for several days and I need him to eat.

Older dogs eat less. You may have to change his food to something lighter that he can digest. Your vet will give you recommendations.
It could be a domino effect from not eating enough one day and it becoming a habit, dropping his sugar levels. You can try giving him a dab of honey to help.
My older lab developed a dental problem and this seriously affected the food she ate. She improved greatly as soon as this was taken care of.
Maybe you have already seen the vet so you will be able to rule out any health problems. Age does seem to have an affect on what they eat and how much so I'm sure this is part of the problem.
