Our German Shepherd bitch who is 9 years old has suddenly started pooing in the car and on the sofa. We have a 15 year old Collie who is the alpha and is not long for this world. Is she claiming her territory as our next alpha? We have four dogs in total.

Any bowel (or bladder) changes are typically an illness vs. a behavior issue (at least 9 of 10 in our cases).
Have the vet check the fur baby and if the pup gets a clean bill of health, talk to the vet about possible "emotional" causes.
