It may be a "magnetic clasp".
I found this video from Utube how they come apart, as it sort of slides apart.

You should be able to pull it apart or twist it open. There are two kinds that look like that.
I looked at a similar looking bracelet and it had a really strong magnet.
The store clerk finally got it open but when trying to fasten it - it actually grabbed the link to close so yours may be like this also.
Maybe try pulling (strong) or pull and twist as Judy suggested.

I would say that the clasp is meant to be pulled apart, and not twisted. It is probably magnetic and it looks nice and strong, so it will not come off while wearing it.

Did you get the figured out? I have one that looks similar and it is called bend and twist to release the magnet. I had never seen one before and it was confounding.
