We have a room that my boyfriend stores all his tools in. It is always a mess and you can't find anything when you need it. The screwdrivers are mixed in with the other hand tools and the woodworking tools are mixed in with the other tools. If you need any tools for the garden, they are mixed in with the power tools and you can't find what you need. You end up spending hours moving tools around to find the one you need.
I decided to organize this tool room to make it simple and easy to find what you need. I redid my kitchen and took the dog food metal cans I covered to store wooden spoons and knives and used them to organize the tools. I also used some old silverware trays to organize some of the smaller tools in them. Old plastic containers worked well to organize the larger tools in. Small plastic buckets that ice cream comes in work great for paint brushes and even paint rollers. Old nail plastic containers work well to put sand paper and cutting disk in.
Now it is easy to see what is on the shelves of the room and to find your tools you need easily. There are so many recycled items that can be used to organize your affairs. It is better to reuse these items than throw them away.
