We've trained our dog to go potty on a piece of fake grass. It was on the side of my patio area and didn't look too great. Our new doggie commode turned out really cute and looks more like a play area than a potty pad. And it is no longer an eyesore for our patio view!
Total Time: 1 1/2 hours
Yield: 1
Supplies:
- border edging
- 2 by 3 boards
- fake grass
- drill and drill bits
- staples and staple gun
- nails and hammer
- screws and screwdriver
Steps:
- Cut 2 by 3s the size of the desired potty pad area. Drill two holes into the ends of the corners of each 2 by 3. Screw sides together to make a frame. We chose to do a rectangular shape.
- Cut the fake grass a little larger than the frame and staple in place with a staple gun.
- Mark where to drill holes for the border so that the ends of the border will fit into the holes. Drill through fake grass and into wood. Insert border pieces into the holes.
- Add a cute little decor if desired. We have a metal dog face and our dog's name "Joy" screwed onto a piece of plastic molding. You could call this "Comm-Ode to Joy"!

Can you hose this off? Wouldn't want urine smell as I have a female dog.

We have rocks under it so you can pick up the lightweight frame and lean it against a fence and hose it off.

Love this. Will have to show my daughter. Love the fence, good for a male dog.
