Diamond Post Medal for All Time! 1,298 Posts Very delicious and easy to make! It is rare to find pre-baked Cornish hens, so you can do them yourself at home.
Prep Time: 40
Cook Time: 35
Total Time: 1 hour, 15 minutes
Yield: 2 hens
Ingredients:
- 2 Cornish game hens
- 3 Tbsp chicken powder
- 2 Tbsp black pepper
- 2 Tbsp salt
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 lemon
- 1 white onion
- 4 stems green onion
- 5 cloves garlic
- 3 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 Tbsp garlic powder
- 1/2 bunch fresh thyme
- 1 tsp fresh parsley
- 3 Tbsp honey
Steps:
- Clean hens with salt. Cut hens open with butterfly method and pat dry.
- Rub the hens all over with salt, pepper, sugar, chicken powder, garlic powder, thyme, and parsley. Also lift the skin of hen and rub thoroughly. Let sit for at least for one hour. The longer it is marinated, the better the flavor is.
- Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees F. Lay hen on foiled tray with lemon slices and garlic cloves. Bake for 20 minutes. Turn the hens around and cook for another 15 minutes.
- Then brush honey on the skin of the hen. Then add sliced white onions on top of the hens. Bake for another 7 minutes.
- For garnishing add cut green onions. It is ready to serve.

The salt is needed for flavor. You can always use less. Chicken powder is the same as bouillon cubes, except not in cube form.
Depending on the brand you use, you might be able to omit the other salt.
