My sister is redoing her family room, she has navy sofa and recliner, with a brown recliner. Teals are her accents, what would you put on the walls? Also her woodwork is natural woods with a brick fireplace that is rather dark.

Any neutral color will work.
She already has three colors. A light version of the brown of the recliner might work or the red of the fireplace brick all the walls don't need to be the same color. At first, I leaned toward a pale navy, but that would make the room rather cold looking.
She could match the brick and the color of that wall and use a lighter color on the other walls. Or use the teal on one wall - the right teal would work on the fireplace wall, but a warmer color would be more pleasant in a family room, so she needs a tan or off brick red or brown for the most of the walls and ceiling. Dark ceilings make a room cozy, but darker. Hope this helps.
