I want to paint my living room and kitchen that are adjoining. It is not an open floor plan. I need some help finding colors that work without making the rooms look completely off from each other. I am wanting a tan for the living room and even thought about doing a darker wall as an accent. Then I wanted to do the kitchen in a medium colored grey.

Go to a paint store, and have a look at the paint samples. Any one of those strips showing several colors will have paint colors that match up. In the bigger stores, there is usually someone who can give advice on co-ordination of colors, or they have a computer program that can show you what the colors look like in a room.
