When I am painting, I always line my paint tray with foil. This works with whatever container you might use. The paint does not dry up as fast and it is easy to clean at the end.
If I am going to have a time break, slide the brush, container and all into a bag and seal it. Stays fresh when out of the air current in the house. This keeps for a couple hours.
