We pruned our palo verde and it's dripping sap from the wound. What do we put on it to stop the dripping?

I am a nervous Nelly sort and when I hear this I am more concerned about the cause and pests than the stopping of the drip ...see numbers 5 and 6 on the list this site gives:

You could have an insect infestation. I would call a tree person to save the tree.
