When there's pure boredom and you have nothing but colored paper, turn it into something that will make you smile. Here's one idea that came to my mind that satisfied my boring day. This craft is also good to try out with your kids.
Supplies:
- 1 whole piece of colored art paper for base
- 2 small pieces assorted colored paper
- 1 small piece of white paper
- black marker
- scissors
- glue
Steps:
- Create a triangle by folding one whole sheet of art paper.
- Cut off the excess part.
- Open the triangle. Now, fold the two sides towards the center fold. It should look like this.
- Put it back into the previous triangle fold. Put your scissors on its tip (where the fold marks meet) then start cutting strips from the outer edge that should stop at the center fold. See photo.
- Leave at least a 2 and 1/2 inch space at the end of the cuts.
- On that wide space, cut out a curve on its tip. This will be the face of the fish.
- Cut out two white small circles and paste them on to the face. Make sure to position the circles properly. Then draw a large black dot in the center part of each white circle. Now, you have its eyes.
- Flip the fish over and paste one triangle to the other. See photo.
- It should form something like this.
- Lightly press the center of the face down.
- Cut two small oval shapes out of a different colored piece of paper.
- Glue them on the sides below the head of the fish.
- Take another color and cut out a heart shape.
- Paste it onto the tip of the tail.
- Measure the width of the mouth and then cut a tongue shaped piece with the same color as the body.
- Attach it on the lower part of the mouth.
- Curl the body as if the fish is moving.
- Enjoy playing!
