Supplies:
- fabric scraps that are coordinating
- scissors
- pins
- sewing machine
- iron
- thread
- pinking shears
- cutting mat and rotary cutter
Steps:
- Select fabric and cut four 2 1/2 inch squares using a template or rotary cutter and mat. Lay out design and sew rows together, two on top and two on bottom. Press. Pin and cut out two backing pieces. Fold one of the backing pieces in half, wrong sides together, to form a pocket. Cut out piece of batting to fit and pin to underneath side of patchwork squares. Quilt along seam lines, sewing one row down and one row across.
- Place the folded backing piece, the backing, the batting, and the patchwork piece as follows: Folded backing (pocket), backing piece, right side down, the patchwork piece wrong side down on top of backing. Pin and sew all the way around. Pink edges. Add a prayer list (paper) to the pocket and a mini pencil for writing on the prayer list.
