Peanut Butter Cup Graduation Cap Favor?

I remember seeing a graduation favor using a small peanut butter cup and a square cookie to make a graduation cap. Does anyone know how to make them? Any other ideas would be welcome, also.

Wasn't it just a fudge covered graham cracker type cookie for the top and an upside-down peanut butter cup for the bottom?

I saw a cute idea at kraftfoods.com using cupcakes. They are called graduation cup-caps. They are really cute! It is made using an upside-down cupcake for the base, then a chocolate-covered graham cracker for the top of the hat, and they added a few other things for decoration.

There is a picture of it on their website if you are interested. Goodluck!

We saw this idea for chocolate mortarboards in the Family Fun magazine (great magazine!). Place miniature peanut butter cups, bottom up, on a plate. Top with a small dollop of peanut butter, then press on chocolate covered graham crackers. For a tassel, cut up a long rectangle of fruit roll-ups, keeping part of the little square in tact, cut little tassels. Stick on top of cookie. This is a great project to have younger siblings help with and they look so cute!

Instead of a cookie, I use two rectangle squares of Hershey's chocolate bar (2 make it square). Make sure to use a good size dollop of peanut butter or the chocolate won't stick. I try to find fruit roll-ups in school colors and this makes them a really neat treat.

I have made them for a few open houses and they get a great reception - and lots of requests for the directions!

Would you believe I actually created the peanut butter graduation cap idea in 1997?! I'm sure there will be skeptics to that claim but I have the graduation open house pictures to prove it! It's neat to see through a web search that the idea has spread and been enjoyed by many. Here's the "original" way I made them and have been doing them for years. Ingredients-Hershey peanut butter cups, Hershey chocolate bar broke in squares, tub of chocolate frosting and a tub of vanilla frosting. Tint the vanilla frosting with food coloring to match the school color of the graduate.

Directions: Put a dab of chocolate frosting between the peanut butter cup and the Hershey chocolate square to hold them together. Attach a star tip to a frosting decorating bag and fill with the vanilla frosting. Squeeze a frosting graduation tassel on the top of the Hershey square. To make the tassel, start by squeezing out the bottom of the tassel just so the frosting suspends right above table height, pull upward to the middle of the Hershey square and end by squeezing a small star. I have served these by themselves or arranged them on top of a sheet cake. Enjoy!

or if you're like me and aren't a fan of peanut butter, use Rolos!
