Here are some photos from the Asahiyama Zoo in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, Japan. They hold this famous Penguin Walk annually from December through March. A walkway is roped off for the penguins to roam around the park, they seemed to do it so happily! The zoo keepers said they take the King Penguins for this walk to keep them from getting too fat in the cold months, as they tend to stand still to conserve energy.

For my grandson Moses' first birthday we took him to Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. He was so fascinated with the aquarium and the penguins, we had a hard time getting him away from the tanks.
