These cool candy bowls are fun to make and you can eat them once the candy in them is gone!
Supplies:
- Brach's Star Brite peppermint candies
- parchment paper
- cookie sheet
- pot mitt
- non stick spray
- small glass bowl (with round bottom)
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 275 degrees F.
- Place 1 peppermint candy on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake for 2-2.5 minutes or until the candy is shiny and soft, but not melted and runny.
- Remove the cookie sheet and place 6 candies around the center one. Be sure the candies are touching. Place the cookie sheet back into the oven for 4-5 minutes. Do not let the candies melt.
- Now place 12 candies around the softened ones. Again make sure they are touching. Return the cookie sheet to the oven and bake for 7 minutes, or until softened.
- Allow the candies to cool for 1 minutes, then trim away the excess parchment paper.
- Spray the bowl with non-stick spray. Then center the bowl on the candies.
- Flip the bowl and candies over and use a pot mitt to gently press the candies around the bowl.
- Carefully remove the parchment paper and allow candies to cool thoroughly. Then turn the bowl over and separate it from the candies.
- Use a paper towel to remove any leftover non-stick spray in the candy bowl. Then fill it with candies and enjoy!
- The larger and "impatient" variation: I wanted to make a second, larger bowl and decided to see what would happen if I baked all of the candies at once.
- Lay out the candies, starting with one in the center and working your way out until you reach the desired size.
- Bake the candies until all of the candies are softened, especially the center one. Try not to let the outside ones melt too much. Allow the candies to cool for 1 minute, then trim away the excess parchment paper.
- Spray the bowl with non-stick spray and center it on the candies. Flip the bowl and candies over.
- Carefully press the candies around the bowl with a pot mitt. I found that the larger bowl needed to have pleats in it to fit properly. Gently pinch them to form the bowl.
- Remove any excess non-stick spray and fill with candy.

Small bowl became glued to the oiled bowl; the peppermint bowl broke; when you place them on the cookie sheet the peppermints are sticky trying to put them in a circle; for the larger size you probably should of alternate between the colors of starlight peppermints!!!
