Permanent Marker Stains on Clothing

My favorite pair of jeans has permanent marker on them, it's a huge line from mid thigh to my knee. My dad, not remembering they had marker on them, washed them. Is there anything I can do to save them?

I know for certain that hand sanitizer gel gets rid of permanent marker on CDs and skin, so it might do the trick here. Try dabbing some on with a cotton ball to soak up the marker stain then wash as usual. Rubbing alcohol is worth trying if that doesn't work. Good luck to you. (02/28/2010)
